Children have fun sledding a snowy hill on an overcast day in winter. The Chippewa National Forest, which lies along the Lake Country Scenic Byway west of Walker, offers outdoor activities such as cross country skiing, snowshoeing and observing fall colors in a breathtakingly beautiful setting. The Shingobee Recreation Area is the perfect place to enjoy outdoor winter activities.
