Assets / #76748: Mississippi River Headwaters

At Itasca State Park, visitors walk across the Mississippi before it becomes the mighty river that flows into the Gulf of Mexico, 2,552 miles downstream. Wild rice grows at the source in Lake Itasca, and the peaceful setting welcomes biking, canoeing, camping and other recreational pursuits.
